Chuck Berry’s “My Ding-A-Ling” was his only #1 hit in the United States. And it’s awesome. There’s no funnier line than “That’s future parliament singing” because he’s absolutely right. I had a hell of a time singing it in a karaoke bar.
Likewise, I was introduced to Johnny Cash due to A Boy Named Sue, which is fantastic.
And I have a soft spot for Weird Al.
Tim Minchin’s “If I didn’t have you” is one of my favorite songs discovered in the last few years. Sometimes, it’s important to have music that doesn’t take itself too seriously, and that’s just fun.
