Stuff I Like

Been meaning to try something like this.

Andy Borowitz’s piece “Obama Denies Role in Government” should have been the basis for a Saturday Night Live sketch.

Ted Nugent’s brother wrote an op-ed piece for the Washington Post. He does not have the background you would expect.

While reading the piece, I realized that I had no familiarity with Nugent’s music. So, I listened to his first hit with the Amboy Dukes “Journey to the Center of the Mind.” It was pretty good, psychedelic rock in The Who/ Byrds mold.

Andrew Sullivan and Te-Neishi Coates have had a fascinating discussion on race and intelligence.

The final moments of the most recent Doctor Who episode just blew me away. It’s why showrunner Stephen Moffat is such a good writer. He teases one thing (answering a question that has plagued fans for decades: What is the Doctor’s real name?) and then offers something so much better.

About Thomas Mets

I’m a comic book fan, wannabe writer, politics buff and New Yorker. I don’t actually follow baseball. In the Estonian language, “Mets” simply means forest, or lousy sports team. Currently, I’m writing a few comic books about my grandparents’ experiences in Soviet Estonia for Grayhaven comics. You can email me at mistermets@gmail.com
